Address: A crypto address is similar to a mastercard number because it is different for each person. It is a long code containing numbers and letters. It is needed to track your transactions in the blockchain and to receive crypto.
AirDrop: Crypto projects deposit free coins or tokens to the wallet addresses of their crypto holders at no cost to them. It is similar to getting an interest for your savings from your bank.
Altcoin: Is an alternative coin to Bitcoin. Any coin that was created after Bitcoin is considered to be an altcoin. Here are few examples: Dogecoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cardano, Polygon and more.
Bear Market: Is when the prices of the cryptocurrencies are falling for long periods of time. The opposite of a bear market is a bull market.
Bitcoin: Is the first crypto created and it has the highest price. Bitcoin or BTC was released to the public in 2009 by an anonymous inventor who goes by the name Satoshi Nakamoto. There are 21,000,000 BTC in existence, so it’s known as digital gold.
Bull Market: Is when the prices of the cryptocurrencies are rising for long periods of time. The opposite of a bull market is a bear market.
Centralized Exchange (CEX): Is an online exchange that requires you to have an account and complete your KYC (know Your Customer) by verifying your identity. The exchanger has control of your funds and private keys. For extra security, you may need to verify yourself each time you login with a one-time code from your google authenticator, mobile device or email account.
Coin: Is a digital asset or currency with it’s own decentralized network.
Cold Wallet: Is the opposite of a hot wallet. It’s a crypto wallet that is offline (not connected to the internet) to prevent hackers from getting your crypto. Your private keys and seed phrase can be stored on a USB driver, dog tags (With engraver pen) , crypto wallet set, ledger or paper wallet.
Cryptocurrency (Crypto): Is a digital currency that isn’t controlled by the government like fiat. Cryptography is used in it’s network for security.
